# Bucky joins IVÉO’s first municipal cohort

Bucky is in the first cohort of IVÉO’s Parcours Accélération Municipale. We are excited to put this work in front of the cities and towns that need it most.

## Who IVÉO is

IVÉO is a nonprofit in Boucherville. It sits between Quebec municipalities and the companies that want to work with them.

IVÉO calls itself an innovation broker. It does not sell a product of its own. It matches a city’s problem with a tool that might help, then helps the two sides get as far as a first conversation. When it makes sense, also a plot. 

The organization works especially with small and medium municipalities. Those places have the same questions as a large city (housing, land, permits, services) and fewer people to answer them.

## How IVÉO got here

IVÉO did not start as a municipal program. In November 2015, the Longueuil agglomeration (Boucherville, Brossard, Longueuil, Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, and Saint-Lambert) backed a initiative for smarter, more sustainable transport. In 2016 the project took the name IVÉO, from the Latin *veho*: to move, to carry.

The work began with mobility. In the years that followed, IVÉO became a broader nonprofit, funded by the Government of Quebec and its partner cities. The job today is municipal innovation: help a city try something new without having to invent the whole path itself.

## The cohort

The Parcours Accélération Municipale opened its first cohort in September 2026. It runs for 12 weeks. Workshops, then time between them to apply the work, with people from municipalities in the room.

The program starts from a plain question: how does a city actually decide to try something new? Who is in the room? What slows a purchase down? What does a first conversation have to sound like before anyone talks about a pilot?

That is the part of the Quebec municipal market that is hard to learn from a website. The cohort lives on IVÉO’s [Parcours d’accompagnement](https://www.iveo.ca/ecosysteme/programmes-daccompagnement-iveo) page.

## Why Bucky is in the room

Bucky already helps cities, and the teams who build in them, answer a property before a project starts. The zoning. What can be built. A document that can be sent.

Bucky is excited to apply our technology to the cities and towns that need it most. Not only the ones that already have a digital team and a long list of vendors.
